| dc.description.abstract | O Flare-up constitui uma dor pós-operatória e/ou edema que se inicia 12 a 48 horas após tratamento endodôntico não cirúrgico, levando o paciente a uma consulta não programada. Os objetivos desta revisão narrativa de literatura são determinar os fatores etiológicos do Flare- up, identificar as causas mecânicas, químicas e microbiológicas assim como os fatores predisponentes de Flare-up, de forma a prevenir a ocorrência deste fenómeno. A metodologia deste estudo constituiu numa pesquisa bibliográfica em diversos motores de busca científicos no período de dezembro de 2022 a agosto de 2023. Os achados bibliográficos são contraditórios. Após uma intensa análise, poucos são aos artigos que abordam a temática “Prevenção” uma vez que não se conseguem controlar todas as variáveis. Todavia, obtiveram-se dados de amostras nos quais se comprova a eficácia de certas intervenções na redução da incidência do fenómeno em estudo. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | Flare-up is a post-operative pain or edema that starts 12 to 48 hours after non surgical endodontic treatment, leading the patient to an unscheduled appointment. The objectives of this narrative literature review are to determine the etiological factors of Flare-up, identify the mechanical, chemical and microbiological causes as well as the predisposing factors of Flare-up, in order to prevent the occurrence of this phenomenon. The methodology of this study consisted on a bibliographical research in several scientific search engines database from December 2022 to August 2023. Bibliographical findings are contradictory. After an intense analysis, there are only few articles that address the theme “Prevention” since it is not possible to control all the variables. However, sample data were obtained which prove the effectiveness of certain interventions in reducing the incidence of the phenomenon under study. | pt_PT |
