dc.description.abstractO microbioma oral é uma comunidade diversificada e complexa de microrganismos que reside na cavidade bucal e tem um papel fundamental na manutenção da saúde oral e sistémica. Uma saúde bucal adequada está ligada a uma maior diversidade microbiana, que consegue adaptar-se melhor às mudanças ambientais. Em crianças, o microbioma oral é dinâmico e crucial para a saúde geral e bucal. Entender os fatores que afetam o desenvolvimento e a composição desse microbioma é vital para garantir uma saúde prolongada. Objetivo: Conduzir uma revisão sistemática dos dados provenientes de estudos disponíveis sobre os fatores que influenciam o microbioma oral em crianças. Metodologia: Foi realizada uma pesquisa bibliográfica nas bases de dados PubMed, SciELO e Cochrane utilizando as seguintes palavras-chave: microbioma oral, crianças, disbiose, alimentação, aleitamento materno e artificial, genética e higiene oral. Os critérios de inclusão abrangeram publicações em inglês, lançadas entre 2017 e 2024, com texto completo acessível. Os artigos identificados foram inicialmente triados por meio da leitura dos resumos. Posteriormente, os artigos considerados pertinentes foram selecionados para uma análise completa. Resultados: Foram selecionados 10 estudos que avaliaram o impacto de fatores microbioma oral em crianças. Conclusão: Com base nos estudos aqui abordados, pode-se concluir que o microbioma oral de uma criança é influenciado por diversos fatores que podem ocorrer desde a fase pré-natal. Os fatores de influência mais importantes são idade, tipo de nascimento, tipo de alimentação (leite materno ou fórmula), saúde bucal da mãe e doenças como diabetes gestacional ou diabetes tipo 1.pt_PT
dc.description.abstractThe oral microbiome is a diverse and complex community of microorganisms that resides in the oral cavity and plays a fundamental role in maintaining oral and systemic health. Adequate oral health is linked to greater microbial diversity, which is better able to adapt to environmental changes. In children, the oral microbiome is dynamic and crucial for general and oral health. Understanding the factors that affect the development and composition of this microbiome is vital to ensuring long-term health. Objective: The objective of this study is, therefore, to conduct a systematic review of data from available studies on the factors that influence the oral microbiome in children. Methodology: A bibliographic search was carried out in the PubMed, SciELO, and Cochrane databases using the following keywords: oral microbiome, children, dysbiosis, feeding, natural and artificial feeding, genetics, and oral hygiene. The inclusion criteria covered publications in English, published between 2017 and 2024, with full-text accessibility. The articles identified were initially screened by reading the abstracts. Subsequently, the articles considered relevant were selected for a full analysis. Results: We selected 10 studies that evaluated the impact of factors on the oral microbiome in children. Conclusion: Based on the studies reviewed here, it can be concluded that a child's oral microbiome is influenced by various factors that can occur in the prenatal period. The most important influencing factors are age, type of birth, type of feeding (breast milk or formula), the mother's oral health, and diseases such as gestational diabetes or type 1 diabetes.pt_PT
