Abstract(s)
Objectivo: Compreender a eficácia do tape patelar de McConnell no Síndrome da Dor Patelofemoral. Metodologia: Foi efetuada uma pesquisa computorizada nas bases dados e motores de busca, Pubmed, EBSCO, Science Direct e PEDro para incluir estudos que avaliassem os efeitos do tape McConnell no Síndrome da Dor Patelofemoral. Resultados: Nesta revisão foram incluídos 10 artigos envolvendo 409 indivíduos, com classificação metodológica de 9/10 se Randomizado controlado, 10/14 se coorte e 10/12 se caso controlo na escala CASP. Dos artigos mencionados nesta revisão, quatro estudos referem-se a uma abordagem mais centrada no Vasto Medial Oblíquo e os restantes seis apresentavam como foco principal a dor e a função. Conclusão: Este estudo concluiu que o tape de McConnell melhora a sintomatologia álgica, diminuindo a intensidade da dor, quando colocado. Demostra também um efeito positivo na redução da severidade clínica, incluindo na funcionalidade e retorno à atividade
Objective: The aim of this study was to understand the effectiveness of McConnell patellar tape in Patellofemoral Pain Syndrome. Methods: It was conducted a computerized research in databases and search engines - Pubmed, EBSCO, Science Direct and PEDro - to include studies that have evaluated the effects of McConnell tape in Patellofemoral Pain Syndrome. Results: In this review it were included 10 articles involving 409 individuals with methodological classification of 9/10 if in controlled Randomised; 10/14 if coorte and 10/12 if case control in the CASP scale. From the mentioned articles in this review, four of them demonstrate a focused approach in the Vastus Medialis Oblique and the remaining six were directed to pain and function. Conclusion: In this study was concluded that the use of McConnell tape seems to improve the symptomatology by decreasing the intensity of pain. It also demonstrated a positive effect in reducing the clinical severity, including in functionality and return to activity.
