Abstract(s)
Objetivo: avaliar o efeito de atividades de dupla-tarefa (DT) no equilíbrio de indivíduos com Doença de Parkinson (DP). Metodologia: Amostra composta por 6 idosos com DP (n=6) divididos em dois grupos: por um grupo experimental que realizou as atividades de dupla tarefa constituído por 3 participantes (n=3) (idade: 74±6,56 e IMC:27,0±7,55) e por um grupo de controlo, que não realizou as atividades DT, constituído por 3 participantes (n=3) (idade: 72,67±9,29 e IMC: 27,07±6,56). O estudo teve a duração de 4 semanas, 2x/semana, totalizando assim, 8 sessões. A Escala Unificada para a Avaliação da Doença de Parkinson (EUADP) foi aplicada inicialmente para uma caracterização da amostra. A Escala de Equilíbrio de Berg (EEB) e o Time Up and Go (TUG) simples e em DT, ambos cronometrados, foram os instrumentos utilizados numa fase inicial e final do estudo, para avaliar o equilíbrio. Resultados: Não foram encontradas diferenças significativas em ambos os grupos e nos métodos de avaliação escolhidos após a intervenção, porém houve ligeiras melhorias no grupo experimental tanto como no TUG simples e em DT, como na EEB, apesar de neste último método o grupo de controlo tenha também uma melhoria, embora menor que o grupo experimental. Conclusão: O treino baseado na dupla-tarefa pode ser usado como estratégia para estimular a melhoria da marcha, porém ainda não existem muitas evidências que avaliem o impacto direto no equilíbrio desses pacientes.

METHODS: The sample consisted of 6 elderly people with PD (n=6) divided into two groups: an experimental group that performed the two-task activities which is made of 3 participants (age: 74 ±6,56 and BMI: 27,0 ± 7,55) and by a control group, which not perform the DT activities, consisting of 3 participants (n=3) (age: 72,67 ± 9.29 and BMI: 27,07± 6,56). The study lasted 4 weeks, 2x/week, into a total of 8 sessions. The Unified Parkinson's Disease Rating Scale (UPDRS) was initially applied for a characterization of the sample. The Berg Balance Scale (BBS) and simple Time Up and Go (TUG) and DT, both timed, were the instruments used in an initial and final phase of the study, for to evaluate balance. Results: No significant differences were found on both groups, and on the evaluation methods chosen after the intervention, however there was slight improvements in the experimental group as well as in the single and TD TUGs, as in the BBS, although in the latter method the control group also has an smaller improvement than the experimental group. Conclusion: Two-task training can be used as a strategy to stimulate gait improvement, but there is not yet much evidence to assess the direct impact on the balance of these patients.
