Abstract(s)
Introdução: Conhecer as expectativas dos doentes e cuidadores criadas perante os tratamentos de fisioterapia, para direcionar o plano de intervenção parece ser importante, face às necessidades e objetivos de cada indivíduo. Objetivo: compreender as expectativas dos doentes parkinsónicos e seus cuidadores em relação à intervenção fisioterapêutica. Metodologia: Foram realizadas entrevistas semi-estruturadas a doentes de Parkinson e seus cuidadores que frequentam fisioterapia. Após a transcrição, foi analisado o conteúdo da entrevista. Resultados: Após a análise do conteúdo foram criadas 3 categorias: sinais e sintomas, expectativas para com a fisioterapia e sem expectativas. Conclusão: Os doentes e cuidadores esperam que a fisioterapia intervenha positivamente no equilíbrio, na diminuição das quedas e na funcionalidade, assim como a nível psicossocial proporcionando aos indivíduos uma melhor qualidade de vida.

Objective: to understand the expectations of parkinson’s patients and their caregivers regarding the physiotherapeutic intervention. Results: After the content analysis, 3 categories were created: signs and symptoms, expectations for physiotherapy and no expectations. Conclusion: The patients and the caregivers expect the positive intervention of the physiotherapy in the balance, reduction of falls and in the functionality, as well as in the psychosocial level, providing parkinson’s patients with a better quality of life.
