Abstract(s)
O estudo efectuado intitulado “O Conhecimento dos Docentes da Faculdade de Ciências da Saúde da Universidade Fernando Pessoa sobre Aleitamento Materno” tem como objectivo geral identificar os conhecimentos dos docentes sobre aleitamento materno.
Actualmente, são várias as organizações (OMS/UNICEF) que promovem e divulgam a o aleitamento materno em todo mundo, preconizando a prática do aleitamento materno exclusivo durante os primeiros seis meses de vida do bebé, o que confere uma nutrição equilibrada e adequada, bem como protecção contra infecções e vinculação entre mãe-filho.
Neste estudo a questão de investigação, que desencadeou a problemática foi: “Quais os Conhecimentos dos Docentes da Faculdade de Ciências da Saúde sobre Aleitamento Materno?”.
Pela sua natureza, o presente estudo insere-se num estudo quantitativo, descritivo e transversal.
A população-alvo deste estudo remete para os docentes da Faculdade de Ciências da Saúde da Universidade Fernando Pessoa.
O método de colheita de dados utilizado foi o questionário e aplicado a uma amostra de 20 docentes da Faculdade de Ciências da Saúde da Universidade Fernando Pessoa para identificar os seus conhecimentos nesta problemática.
Após o tratamento informático dos dados e a sua análise estatística, os resultados evidenciam que na sua maioria, os docentes possuem conhecimentos acerca do aleitamento materno, nomeadamente ao nível das vantagens do aleitamento materno; da anatomia e fisiologia da lactação; dos princípios a atender na técnica da amamentação; das contra-indicações da amamentação; das razões da interrupção precoce da amamentação; dos direitos dos pais sobre a amamentação.
A realização deste estudo contribuiu para a aquisição de conhecimentos relativos à temática do aleitamento materno e para o desenvolvimento de competências no âmbito da metodologia científica.
The study entitled "The Knowledge of Teachers of the Faculty of Health Sciences, University Fernando Pessoa on Breastfeeding" aims to identify the general knowledge of teachers on breastfeeding. Currently, several organizations (UNICEF/WHO) to promote and disseminate breastfeeding throughout the world, advocating the practice of exclusive breastfeeding during the first six months of life of babies, which gives a balanced and adequate nutrition, but also protection against infections and affection between mother and child. In this study the question of research, which triggered the problem, was: "What are the knowledge of Teachers, Faculty of Health Sciences on Breastfeeding?". By its nature, this study forms part of a quantitative study, descriptive and transversal. To meet the response on the question that guides this research was chosen a population. The population of this study refers to the teachers of Faculty of the School of Health Sciences, University Fernando Pessoa. After the chosen people, a sample was prepared to be able to respond to what you want to study. The sample consists of 20 teachers. In this sense was developed and applied a questionnaire to teachers of the Faculty of Health Sciences, University Fernando Pessoa to identify their knowledge on this issue. After the processing of data and statistical analysis, the results suggest that most of the teachers have knowledge of breastfeeding, particularly at the level of benefits of breastfeeding, the anatomy and physiology of lactation, the principles to meet the technical of breastfeeding, the contra-indications for breastfeeding, the reasons for early discontinuation of breastfeeding, the rights of parents on breastfeeding. This study contributed to the acquisition of knowledge on the topic of breastfeeding and the development of skills in the context of scientific methodology.
