Abstract(s)
Objective: The aim of the present study is to evaluate the resistance to the core in hockey athletes and without history of nonspecific low back pain. It is also the objective of the present study to investigate the efficacy of an intervention program without lumbar treatment of non-specific origin in the population described above. Methodology: 38 male skating hockey athletes with and without nonspecific low back pain symptoms performed several tests in order to assess the endurance of the core. Subsequently, athletes with non-specific low back pain were integrated into an intervention program and were randomly distributed between the control group and the experimental. Results: The performance of the core stabilization intervention protocol improved the reported pain and muscle endurance in the exercises performed during the evaluation, while the participants who did not perform the intervention protocol had increased reported pain and decreased muscle endurance. Conclusion: The application of a core stabilization intervention plan improved pain and muscle endurance in individuals with non-specific low back pain.
