dc.description.abstractO estudo “O fenómeno da delinquência juvenil na formação de gangues em Portugal: Projeto ISRD-3” trata de uma análise mais ampla do estudo International Self- Reported Delinquency Study, na sua 3ª versão portuguesa (ISRD-3) e, observando a uma metodologia de caracter quantitativo, correlacional e transversal, tem por objetivo averiguar o impacto da delinquência juvenil junto da formação de gangues na população jovem portuguesa. Desta forma, contemplando uma amostra de 4.048 participantes de diferentes estabelecimentos de ensino, públicos e privados, das zonas urbanas de Braga, Porto e Lisboa, e tendo por base os critérios do grupo de estudo Eurogang, procura-se testar as seguintes questões de investigação: a prevalência do fenómeno e de que forma a presença de normas subculturais e antissociais influência o comportamento delinquente e/ou violento no jovem, e o levam a seguir uma carreira criminal ou a aderir a um gangue. Procura ainda explorar e testar questões teóricas relacionadas com a temática. Portanto, será correto afirmar que a delinquência é um fator chave na formação de gangues em Portugal? De facto, os resultados não são suficientes para responder a esta hipótese. Para comprovar a veracidade desta afirmação, seria necessário confirmar a presença de gangues em Portugal. Contudo, os resultados, indicam, à semelhança das versões anteriores do projeto ISRD, que a população jovem portuguesa, é uma população normativa, que comete atos antissociais e/ou violentos de forma esporádica. Esta dissertação de mestrado ainda é precedida por uma componente teórica que procura informar o leitor sobre a pertinência e o estado da arte do tema.pt_PT
dc.description.abstractThe study, "Youth delinquency phenomenon in the formation of gangs in Portugal: ISRD-3 Project", is a broader study of the International Self-Reported Delinquency Study in his 3rd Version, in Portugal (ISRD-3), and observing a quantitative, correlational and cross-sectional methodology, aims to finding out about the impact of the juvenile delinquency on gang formation involving young Portuguese population. So, in a sample of 4.048 participants from different public and private educational establishments from the urban areas of Braga, Porto and Lisbon, based on the criteria of the Eurogang study group, we will try to test the following research questions: The prevalence of the phenomenon and the presence of subculture and antisocial standards and how it can influence delinquent and/or violent behavior in the young and lead him to pursue a criminal career or to join a gang. It also seeks to explore and test theoretical issues related to the subject. Therefore, is it correct to say that delinquency is a key factor in the formation of gangs in Portugal? In fact, the results are not sufficient to answer this hypothesis. To prove the veracity of this statement, it would be necessary to confirm the presence of gangs in Portugal. However, de results indicate, very similar to previous versions of the ISRD project, that our youngsters are, in fact, a normative population, and only expresses antisocial and/or violent behaviors, sporadically. This work is also preceded by a theoretical component that seeks to inform the reader about the pertinence and state of art of the theme.pt_PT
