Abstract(s)
The correlation between the concepts of crime and criminality and intellectual functioning and intelligence has been receiving a greater focus in recent research work. Although there are still debates regarding the existence of such correlation, being it direct or indirect and the strength of it, there is a consensus that individuals with a lower degree of cognitive balance are more likely to act of committing delinquent acts, deviant from the norm and in itâs majority, legally punishable, these cognitive deficits have also been more present in various prison populations of inmates. This project focuses on defining both the definitions and concepts of criminality and intelligence and itâs variants, itâs testing through IQ tests, the correlation of these concepts to one another, if there is a relationship itself and if it is direct or indirect, but also the usefulness of the theory itself in practical values.
