| dc.description.abstract | O movimento migratório é um fenómeno com grande impacto ao nível das transformações socias, constituindo um desafio da saúde pública, na medida em que impele a uma atualização na formulação de políticas e programas que acautelem o acesso aos cuidados de saúde, com particular atenção à redução das desigualdades e eliminação de barreiras de acesso aos mesmos. Este estudo pretende descrever os níveis de Literacia em Saúde em mulheres portuguesas emigrantes. Estudou-se uma amostra de conveniência constituída por 99 mulheres, com idades entre os 18 e 75 anos (M=34,55; DP=10,11) e, maioritariamente, com níveis de escolaridade correspondentes aos Ensinos Secundário (43,4%) e Superior (36,3%). As participantes responderam a um questionário sociodemográfico e clínico e à Escala de Literacia em Saúde. Da amostra, 31,1% refere habitualmente ir acompanhada a consultas médicas/enfermagem, 21,2% sofre de alguma doença e 10,1% esteve internada no último ano. Quanto à perceção geral de saúde 50,5% das mulheres percecionam a sua saúde como sendo “boa”. Verificou-se que os níveis globais de Literacia em Saúde são medianos (M=65,2; DP=11,1). Ao nível da Literacia Comunicacional, as participantes revelam possuir boas competências (M=81,1%; DP=18,0), porém ao nível da Literacia Funcional estas são medianas (M=64,2; DP=12,1) e ao nível da Literacia Crítica são claramente fracas (M=34,0; DP=7,0). É, pois, importante desenvolver estratégias abrangentes de alfabetização em saúde a fim de reduzir as desigualdades em saúde. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | The migratory movement is a phenomenon with a great impact on social transformations, posing a challenge to public health, as it impels an update in the formulation of policies and programs that safeguard access to health care, with particular attention to reducing inequalities and the elimination of barriers to their access. This study aims to describe the levels of Health Literacy in Portuguese migrant women. A convenience sample of 99 women aged between 18 and 75 years (M= 34.55; SD = 10.11) and mostly with secondary education (43.4%) was studied and Superior (36.3%). Participants answered a sociodemographic and clinical questionnaire and the Health Literacy Scale. Of the sample, 31.1% usually refer to medical / nursing consultations, 21.2% suffer from some disease and 10.1% were hospitalized in the hospital. last year. As for the general perception of health 50.5% of women perceive their health as being "good". Overall levels of health literacy were found to be average (M = 65.2; SD = 11.1). At the level of Communicational Literacy, the participants reveal to have good skills (M = 81.1%; SD = 18.0), but at the Functional Literacy level these are medium (M = 64.2; SD = 12.1) and Critical Literacy are clearly weak (M = 34.0; SD = 7.0).
