Abstract(s)
A parca
vitimação múltipla confirmam a existência do fenómeno. A polivitimação é assinalada
Multiple child victimization has been the subject of extensive international research on the relevance of impact assessment on child and youth development. The slight national research justifies the development of this work, which begins with a review of the literature on the subject, followed by an empirical study. In this study it was aimed to understand the multiple childhood and juvenile victimization amongst a sample of 12-18 year-olds divided into two groups (with and without psychological counseling), who have answered to the Juvenile Victimization Questionnaire (JVQ). This instrument was equally applied to the legal guardians of these youngsters in order to obtain a heterorelate assessment of the experience of youth victimization. The results indicated that there is a usual experience of young people in violence situations, emphasis on conventional crimes on wich are more experienced and sexual victimization as being less common. There is cumulative experience of violence, wich proves multiple childhood and juvenile victimization and polyvitimation. These phenomena aren't necessarily the most common between population with clinical signaling, revealing that this problem is largely extended to the population in the analyzed age range, therefore not existing significant differences between youngsters when compared to types of violence, multiple victimization or polivitimation. The data provided by the parents corroborate with the more and less common types of crime (conventional vs. Sexual) experienced by their children. The numbers for multiple victimization confirm the existence of the phenomenon. Polyvitimation is reported as most common in the clinical group. It is important to alert to the phenomenon of multiple childhood and juvenile victimization aiming at a more effective evaluation and intervention among this population.
