Abstract(s)
Awareness of the need to acquire foreign language competence has increased, in
Europe, since the implementation of the Bologna Process. On the other hand, the development
of technology in educational settings has resulted in an increasing interest in Distance Education.
The use of the ePortfolio in language learning as both a process and a product meets the
Communicative Language Teaching approach and upholds the research question of how the
virtual platform and the ePortfolio help in English language teaching and learning. This paper
reports on the experience of using the Drop Box tool of the Sakai software as an ePortfolio,
combined with the follow-up interviews in class, in the scope of the development of the project work, i.e. the last module of the curricular unit ‘English Language’.
