Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus) é uma bactéria de Gram positivo, oportunista, que é frequentemente encontrada na mucosa humana, nomeadamente nas fossas nasais e na pele, e é responsável por várias infeções.
O objetivo deste trabalho é analisar e perceber a presença de S. aureus e MRSA nos alimentos e foi redigido sob a forma de revisão bibliográfica.
Houve uma pesquisa na base de dados PUBMED, Scielo e Science Direct nas quais foram selecionados artigos para análise. E também foi feita uma pesquisa na EFSA e ASAE, para poder especificar mais.
Dado que nos dias de hoje a prevalência destas infeções ainda continua alta, apesar de a taxa de mortalidade ter baixado, é importante haver prevenção dos aparecimentos das mesmas.
A prevenção passaria então por uma boa higiene a nível pessoal e também pela manutenção da segurança alimentar através do cumprimento de algumas regras apresentadas neste trabalho.

The objective of this work is to analyze and understand the presence of S. aureus and MRSA in foods and was written in the form of a literature review. There was a search in the PUBMED, Scielo and Science Direct databases in which articles were selected for analysis. A survey was also carried out at EFSA and ASAE, in order to be able to specify more. Given that the prevalence of these infections is still high today, despite the fact that the mortality rate has dropped, it is important to prevent their appearance. Prevention would then involve good personal hygiene and also the maintenance of food safety through compliance with some rules presented in this work.
