| dc.description.abstract | A diabetes mellitus representa um sério e grave problema de saúde pública em Portugal. A diabetes é uma patologia com importantes e graves implicações sociais, económicas e humanas. Em 2012 atinge mais de 3 milhões de pacientes dos quais 92% com diabetes do tipo 2. A gestão da diabetes está actualmente focada na detecção da doença, no controle glicémico e na prevenção de complicações maiores. Actualmente, é conhecida a existência de uma relação saúde oral/diabetes, embora ainda seja muitas vezes ignorada pelas equipas médicas. A diabetes é uma doença que interfere com os tratamentos efetuados pelo Médico Dentista, com várias especificidades do tratamento e gestão de pacientes diabéticos em cirurgia oral. Este trabalho tem como objetivo abordar a doença Diabetes Mellitus apoiando a classificação da doença, os aspectos clínicos da doença, bem como, as suas complicações quando os pacientes diabéticos são submetidos em especial, a tratamento dentário cirúrgico ou não. | pt_PT |
