Sequelas pós-infeção com COVID-19 em utentes do ambulatório do Hospital-Escola Fernando Pessoa

| dc.description.abstract | Introdução: COVID-19 Longa é o termo usado para descrever os sinais e sintomas que permanecem ou se desenvolvem após infeção aguda de COVID-19, que podem ser durante 4 a 12 semanas, ou perdurar por mais de 12 semanas. O diagnóstico é baseado apenas na sintomatologia persistente reportada pelo paciente. Objetivo: analisar e recolher dados quanto às sequelas em indivíduos previamente infetados com COVID-19, nos utentes presentes no ambulatório do Hospital-Escola Fernando Pessoa, avaliando a aptidão física, condição respiratória, mental e presença de dispneia. Metodologia: 54 participantes (52.44 15.52 anos), aos quais foi aplicado um Questionário de COVID-19, Escala de ansiedade, depressão e stress, Questionário de dispneia, espirometria, peak flow meter e testes de aptidão física, avaliando os sinais vitais, fadiga e dispneia através da Escala de Borg modificada. Resultados: os principais sintomas persistentes após infeções leves por COVID-19 foram a fadiga, tosse seca, dor muscular persistente, dispneia, fraqueza nas pernas/braços, ansiedade e esquecimento. A maioria dos sintomas reportados pelos utentes tiveram associação com a dispneia, aptidão física, respiratória e mental. Conclusão: mesmo em infeções leves por COVID-19, foram observadas sequelas pós-COVID, sendo necessária a intervenção do fisioterapeuta e monitorização. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | Introduction: Long COVID-19 is the term used to describe the signs and symptoms that remain or develop after acute COVID-19 infection, which can last for 4 to 12 weeks, or last for more than 12 weeks. Diagnosis is based solely on patient-reported persistent symptomatology. Objective: to analyze and collect data regarding the sequelae in individuals previously infected with COVID-19, particularly in patients present at the outpatient clinic of Hospital-Escola Fernando Pessoa, analyzing physical, respiratory, mental condition, and dyspnea. Methodology: 54 participants (52.44 15.52 years old), to whom a COVID-19 Questionnaire, Anxiety, Depression and Stress Scale, Modified Borg Scale, Dyspnea Questionnaire, spirometry, peak flow meter and functional fitness tests were applied, analyzing vital signs, fatigue and dyspnea with modified Borg scale. Results: it was possible to observe that the main persistent symptoms after mild infections by COVID-19 were fatigue, dry cough and persistent muscle pain, dyspnea, weakness in the legs/arms, anxiety and memory. Most of the symptoms reported by users were associated with dyspnea, physical, respiratory and mental condition. Conclusion: even in mild COVID-19 infection, post-COVID sequelae were observed, being necessary the atuation of the physiotherapist and its monitorization. | pt_PT |
