Abstract(s)
Objetivos gerais: Revisão a nível taxonómico, ciclo de vida e modo de transmissão de Toxoplasma gondii. Como pode ser feito o diagnóstico, quais as formas de tratamento e como prevenir a infeção.
Objetivos específicos: Prevalência da toxoplasmose nos últimos anos em Portugal e na Europa.
Material e Métodos: Pesquisa de artigos científicos relacionados com o tema, onde foram incluídos os artigos que apresentavam como amostragem mulheres em idade fértil, toxoplasmose congénita e indivíduos imunocomprometidos, em Portugal e Europa. Pesquisa dos relatórios mais recentes de infeção.
Descrição: A toxoplasmose é uma doença que ainda provoca muitos casos de infeção nos dias de hoje tanto em Portugal como na Europa. A população que deve ter mais atenção no que toca a esta infeção são as mulheres em idade fértil e os indivíduos imunocomprometidos (prevenção). O diagnóstico feito no princípio da infeção e posterior início do tratamento é o padrão-chave para travar a infeção.
General objectives: Taxonomic review, life cycle and mode of transmission of Toxoplasma gondii. How the diagnosis can bem ade, what forms of treatment and how to prevent infection. Specific objectives: Prevalence of toxoplasmosis in recent years in Portugal and Europe. Material and Methods: Research of scientific articles related to the topic. Articles that presented as samples women of childbearing age, congenital toxoplasmosis, immunocompromised individuals in Portugal and Europe were included. Search for the most recent infection reports. Description: Toxoplasmosis is a disease that still causes many cases of infection today both in Portugal and in Europe. The population that should pay more attention to this infection are women of childbearing age and immunocompromised individuals (prevention). The diagnosis made at the beginning of the infection and subsequent initiation of treatment is the key pattern to stop the infection.
