| dc.description.abstract | A atuação policial é um campo alvo de escrutínio crescente e, por isso, é cada vez mais importante que a sua legitimidade seja entendida como válida, legal e moralmente aceite, enquadrada dentro dos direitos fundamentais do indivíduo. Posto isto, é objetivo da presente proposta entender a importância da legitimidade policial através da análise de como a comunidade a avalia, podendo, inclusive, representar um estímulo para a reformulação da instituição policial em sociedades democráticas. Partindo da dúvida do peso da legitimidade policial para a comunidade e de como a abordagem policial nela interfere, a proposta visa averiguar como a abordagem policial pode ou não legitimar a sua atuação. Outras hipóteses podem ser levantadas, sobretudo sobre como a relação das dimensões com o conceito de legitimidade podem ser um auxílio para uma melhor compreensão deste conceito. Para isto, deve ser levado a cabo uma investigação empírica com base na análise da relação entre as variáveis esperando-se que se venha a confirmar uma relação estatisticamente significativa entre elas. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | Police action is an increasingly scrutinized field, and therefore, it is increasingly important that its legitimacy is understood as valid, legal, and morally accepted, framed within the fundamental rights of the individual. With this in mind, the aim of this proposal is to understand the importance of police legitimacy through the analysis of how the community assesses it, which could even represent a stimulus for the reformulation of the police institution in democratic societies. Starting from the doubt about the weight of police legitimacy for the community and how the police approach interferes with it, the proposal aims to investigate how the police approach may or may not legitimize its action. Other hypotheses can be raised, especially about how the relationship between the dimensions and the concept of legitimacy can aid a better understanding of this concept. For this, an empirical investigation should be carried out based on the analysis of the relationship between the variables, expecting to confirm a statistically significant relationship between them. | pt_PT |
