Introduction: Sleep is a state of temporary rest, which allows for the maintenance of the individual's state of health. It is a biologically complex process, whose interest has been growing since ancient times to the present day. Valle, (2016). Objective: To analyse the sleep habits and emotional state of students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and their school achievement. Methodology: 30 children and 28 adolescents of both genders, diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, participated in this study, in which questionnaires were applied, which allowed the collection of sociodemographic data such as: gender, age, year they attend, grade point average and their sleep habits. To obtain the data, the Sleep Self Report - SSR and the Cleveland Adolescent Sleepiness Questionnaire were jointly applied. Results: In any of the sample groups, a deficit of hours is evident. This deficit is greater in male children of 2 hours and 30 minutes. Regarding adolescents, it is perceived that this deficit is 50% higher for girls. Conclusions: We conclude that it is evident a lack of hours of sleep for children of both sexes, with boys depriving themselves of 2 hours and 31 minutes of sleep and girls 1 hour and 8 minutes. Adolescents, on the other hand, show a lack of sleep of 1 hour and 30 minutes for boys and 2 hours for girls. The survey on the adolescents' emotionality shows a high degree of irritability and intolerance, especially in girls. In this study, it is not possible to establish a direct effect of the few hours of sleep of children and adolescents on their school performance.
