| dc.description.abstract | O cyberbullying em estudantes universitários é um problema sério e transversal a muitos países, e com consequências que se manifestam em diferentes domínios da vida do estudante, afetando negativamente o seu bem-estar. Não obstante, o número de estudos desenvolvidos é ainda insuficiente e, na sua maioria, não focam as diferenças de género. Neste sentido, a presente dissertação pretende determinar a prevalência e as diferenças de género no cyberbullying em estudantes universitários do país, recorrendo ao Questionário de Cyberbullying no Ensino Superior (QCES). Para isso, recorreu-se a uma amostra de conveniência de 933 participantes, com idades compreendidas entre os 18 e os 69 anos (M=22.80; DP=5.54). De todos os participantes, 6.5% perpetraram comportamentos de cyberbullying e 29.7% foram vítimas, sendo ser insultado, ser gozado e ver espalhados rumores sobre a sua vida os comportamentos de vitimação mais referidos. Como consequência da vitimação, os participantes que referiram ter sido vítimas sentiram-se inseguros, preocupados, com raiva e tristes, tendo a maioria delas adotado estratégias online para impedir a continuação da situação. É ainda que referir que foram identificadas diferenças de género. Os resultados obtidos contribuem para o reconhecimento da ocorrência do cyberbullying em estudantes universitários, reforçando a necessidade de continuarem a ser desenvolvidos estudos e programas de prevenção e intervenção, dirigidos a todos os intervenientes no cyberbullying. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | Cyberbullying in university students it’s a serious problem which affects every country, with consequences at every level of a student’s life, with a negative impact in his well-being. There are only a few number of studies developed and most of those investigations don’t analyze gender differences. This study has the objective to determinate cyberbullying prevalence and gender differences in Portuguese university students, using the Questionnaire on Cyberbullying in Higher Education (QCES). This investigation has a convenience sample of 933 participants, ages from 18 to 69 years old (M=22.80; SD=5.54). Of all participants, 6.5% practiced cyberbullying behaviors and 29.7% are victims. Being insulted, ashamed and having spread rumors about his life are the victimization behaviors most reported. As a consequence of victimization, victims reported feeling insecure, worried, anger and sad. Most victims resorted to online strategies to stop the perpetration. There are also notable gender differences among cyberbullying victims. These results contribute to the recognition of cyberbullying occurrence on university students and that it is necessary to develop investigations, intervention and prevention programs on all cyberbullying intervenients. | pt_PT |
