O presente trabalho de projeto tem o propósito social de relevar a importância da apropriação da leitura e da escrita na vida das pessoas, pois possibilita a integração e interação das mesmas na sociedade. Na tentativa de perceber o impacto que a leitura e a escrita teve na vida das alunas egressas da Educação de Jovens e Adultos (EJA) foi realizado esse estudo de investigação. A presente pesquisa teve como objetivo geral averiguar como a apropriação social da leitura e da escrita tem contribuído para a melhoria da qualidade de vida dos jovens e adultos e como objetivos específicos mapear as percepções dos egressos do curso de Jovens e Adultos em relação às mudanças provocadas na sua vida após a participação no referido Programa; analisar a relação entre as metas do Programa e as manifestações linguísticas e sociais dos alfabetizados sobre seu processo de alfabetização. Para tanto, o estudo foi embasado nos pressupostos de uma pesquisa de cariz predominantemente qualitativo, que abarca os estudos de caráter exploratório, que encontra raízes nos estudos “qualitativos” atendendo a natureza e a dinâmica da pesquisa e do seu pesquisador. Esta proposição de investigação direta no lócus, delineada pela análise documental e da pesquisa de campo possibilitou a realização de observações e registros de forma progressiva, o contato direto com os sujeitos e com o espaço físico do Curso bem como a consumação de entrevistas semiestruturadas. Os sujeitos entrevistados foram alfabetizadores e alfabetizandos do Curso de Educação de Jovens e Adulto. Para respaldar essa pesquisa usou-se como referência teóricos que realizam trabalho e estudo sobre o assunto aqui abordado, como: Freire, Soares, Pinto, Gadotti, Tfouni, Ribeiro e outros que trazem uma importante contribuição para a realização dessa pesquisa.
This dissertation has the social purpose to present the relevance of the appropriation of reading and writing and its extreme relevance in people's lives, since it enables their integration and interaction in society. Attempting to perceive the impact that reading and writing had on the lives of the young women graduating from Adult and Young Adult Education (EJA) program, this study was carried out. The present research had as general objective to investigate how the social appropriation of reading and writing has contributed to the improvement in the quality of life of young people and adults, and as specific objectives to map the perceptions of the graduates of the course of Youth and Adults in relation to the changes provoked in their life after participating in the said Program; to analyze the relationship between the goals of the Program and the linguistic and social manifestations of the literate ones about their literacy process. To this end, the study was based on the assumptions of a predominantly qualitative research, which encompasses the exploratory studies that find roots in the "qualitative" studies, taking into account the nature and dynamics of the research and its researcher. This proposition of direct research in the locus, delineated by the documentary analysis and the field research made it possible to make observations and records in a progressive way, the direct contact with the subjects and with the physical space of the Course as well as the consummation of semi-structured interviews. The subjects interviewed were literate and literate in the Youth and Adult Education Course. To support this research, reference was made to theorists who carry out work and studies on the subject discussed here, such as: Freire, Soares, Pinto, Gadotti, Tfouni and others that make an important contribution to this research.
