Objective: To investigate the effectiveness of dance therapy and music therapy in the treatment of Parkinson's disease as adjunct to physical therapy. Methodology: A search was performed by keywords in the Pubmed/Medline database and articles that met the inclusion criteria where selected. Results: The intervention of dance therapy as a complement to physical therapy seems to be an effective intervention and gathers broad consensus on its application. The intervention of music therapy is not as consensual. Conclusion: The dance therapy is assumed as a viable intervention in the treatment of Parkinson's patients, but music therapy is still controversial and needs further studying in order to determine its effects.
