Abstract(s)
Violence in intimate relationships is, today, a form of discrimination in gender inequality. There is no place in the world where it does not happen, immigrant women are victims of domestic violence, because violence in intimate relationships arises in all societies, cultures, social classes, and religions. The fact that this violence transcends all these aspects can not only increase the risk of women to violence, but also that they encounter various difficulties due to the obstacles encountered by immigrant women when faced with domestic violence, complicating the seek for help to solve this problem. The purpose of this graduation project is to contribute and raise awareness about domestic violence against immigrants more specifically in women, particularly the risks to which they are subject. The project will be based on a qualitative and quantitative methodology and the sample will be men or women, aged 18-65, who are immigrants and the instrument used will be a questionnaire to obtain relevant data for the investigation. The expected results of this study are that people attach much more importance to their social networks like friends and family, since they are fundamental and function as a network of help and support in case something is not well in a relationship, and sometimes what happens is that the partner causes the victim to separate from these support networks in order to isolate it and make it vulnerable to violent behavior. The practical implications would be useful as a way to gather more information on this problem, for example through surveys and statistics in order to understand this issue and try to find new resolutions to help these people.
