Introdução: O significado de qualidade de vida é um conceito muito ambíguo e pessoal, pelo que o objetivo do estudo foi compreender qual a perceção que os doentes com AVE têm da sua QV e como esta é influenciada pelo tratamento de Fisioterapia. Metodologia: Realização de uma entrevista semiestruturada a doentes com diagnóstico de primeiro AVE que realizavam Fisioterapia. Após transcrição das entrevistas foi efetuada uma análise temática do conteúdo a partir do discurso dos participantes. Resultados: Participaram no estudo doze pessoas com AVE que referem que a QV engloba: a saúde, a mobilidade, o trabalho e a família, sendo que a realização de fisioterapia influencia a sua capacidade física (mobilidade, força, equilíbrio) e autonomia. Conclusão: De todos os componentes que os doentes percecionam da sua QV, estes dão maior ênfase à saúde e à mobilidade sendo que a fisioterapia influencia mais a nível da mobilidade do membro superior e marcha.

Methodology: Semi-structured interviews were conducted to patients diagnosed with first stroke who were doing physiotherapy. Conclusion: Health and mobility were the more important components of QL for the stroke patients and physiotherapy have more influence in the mobility of their upper limbs and gait.
