A violência nas escolas constitui um fenómeno de crescente problematização social e deve ser abordada consoante as suas diversas representações sociais. A utilização da mediação escolar surge como uma resposta alternativa à intervenção neste domínio, na medida em que permite fomentar e reforçar valores como a solidariedade, a tolerância e a igualdade. Decorrente do estágio curricular na Comissão de Proteção de Crianças e Jovens da Maia, considerou-se pertinente desenvolver um programa que procurasse atender às diversas situações de violência e comportamentos de risco sinalizados em meio escolar. Assim, o presente estudo enquadra-se na temática da mediação escolar, que pretende numa perspetiva global, formar pares mediadores dentro da instituição escolar e que contribuía para um ambiente escolar mais seguro com menos violência e menos conflituoso. Assim foram delineadas diversas estratégias, desde a realização de campanhas de sensibilização, debates sobre vários fenómenos de violência, role plays, brainstorming, passando igualmente pelo estabelecimento de parcerias. Avaliação final do programa realizar-se-á com um questionário final esperando-se obter resultados como o desenvolvimento de uma cultura de paz no ambiente escolar revertendo a situação real das escolas e estabelecer uma comunicação mais pacífica, evitando resolver conflitos através do recurso a violência.
Violence in schools represents a growing phenomenon of social questioning and should be addressed according to their different social representations. The use of school mediation emerges as an alternative response to intervention in this field, as it allows foster and reinforce values such as solidarity, tolerance and equality. Resulting from the curricular traineeship in CPCJ Maia, it was considered appropriate to develop a program that sought to meet the diverse situations of violence and risky behavior flagged in schools. So, the present study fits the theme of school mediation, which seeks in a global perspective, to form mediators pairs inside the school and contributed for a safety school environment with less violence and less confrontational. So it was outlined some strategies, from conducting awareness campaigns, debates about phenomena of violence, role play, brainstorming, passing also through the establishment of partnerships. Final evaluation of the program will perform a final questionnaire is expected to get results such as the development of a culture of peace in the school environment by reversing the real situation of schools and establish a more peaceful communication, avoiding conflict resolution through the use of violence.
