Even thought it’s a known fact that both social and individual elements are directly related to the excessive alcohol consumption, thus promoting the pathogenic action and addiction after a while, we should reinforce that alcohol is classified as the agent of the alcoholic disease. It’s important to acknowledge that the alcoholic disease is a common problem to all social and economic layers, to all ages, religions, countries and sexes. It’s one of the biggest health problems in the world. On the other hand, it’s known that there are a lot of uncertainties and questions regarding the genesis and the origin of the addictions and several authors reinforce the existence of multiple sociogenetic and cultural factors that explain the individual vulnerability and the big discrepancies in the reaction to alcohol.
