Barros, Liliana; Ribeiro, SofiaAn overreaction of the immune system to both infectious and inert antigens can lead to severe tissue damage. These hypersensitivity reactions are classified into four main types depending of the response-immediate or delayed and of the immune component involved. In this article we provide some evidences of the role of immunological mechanisms in type I and type IV hypersensitivity trough a relation with oral pathologies known has Contact Stomatitis and Oral Lichen Planus.
