O ciberespaço enquanto palco de confissões e contradições: uma problematização a partir da notícia de um caso de estupro coletivo de uma adolescente brasileira

Dentro do contexto pós-moderno, o ciberespaço ocupa um importante lugar de
realização instantânea de um vasto leque de necessidades e motivações individuais e
coletivas, dadas as suas múltiplas possibilidades e características. Em particular, a
liberdade e o poder experimentados neste palco sem limites têm atraído um crescente
número de usuários que, protegidos pelo anonimato, expressam posicionamentos que
estimulam problematizações elaboradas em sede de diferentes áreas do saber. O
presente trabalho discute a relação entre as potencialidades da comunicação mediada
pela internet e a construção colaborativa de discursos em torno de um caso mediatizado
de estupro em grupo de uma adolescente brasileira residente em uma comunidade no
Rio de Janeiro. Relaciona os posicionamentos emergentes das (co)produções
discursivas dos utilizadores acerca das causas, responsabilidades e consequências do
estupro com as condições de (co)produção discursiva. Discute ainda contributos do
ciberespaço enquanto palco revelador da coexistência de realidades contraditórias e
conflituantes em matérias como a violência contra as mulheres. A partir de uma
metodologia qualitativa, foram selecionados 142 comentários publicados em um
período de 48 horas na caixa de comentários que acompanhou a notícia divulgada no
site www.g1.globo.com. A interpretação dos dados, orientada pela análise temática,
permitiu identificar três temas: i) justiça virtual: acusações e defesas; ii) a persona e o
machismo como expressão de verdade; e iii) realidade social e preconceito, expressões e
(in)compreensões do mundo. Os resultados sugerem a (co)produção de discursos e a
disseminação nem sempre respeitosa de práticas discursivas influenciadas por práticas
machistas que desvalorizam o lugar da mulher na sociedade contemporânea. Reforça-se,
assim, a necessidade de repensar o ciberespaço enquanto palco acessível e disponível
para a (re)produção de posicionamentos que (i)legitimam práticas atualmente
configuradas como crime, como é o caso do estupro. Ressalta-se a pertinência de uma
discussão sobre os atuais termos de utilização das caixas de comentários dos jornais
online.
Within the postmodern context, cyberspace occupies an important place of instant realization of a wide range of individual and collective needs and motivations, given their multiple possibilities and characteristics. In particular, the freedom and power experienced on this stage without limits has attracted an increasing number of users who, protected by anonymity, express positions that stimulate elaborated problematizations in different areas of knowledge. This paper discusses the relationship between the potentialities of internet mediated communication and the collaborative construction of discourses around a mediated case of group rape of a Brazilian adolescent living in a community in Rio de Janeiro. It relates the emerging positions of users' discursive (co)productions about the causes, responsibilities and consequences of rape with discursive (co)production conditions. It also discusses contributions from cyberspace as a revealing scenario of the coexistence of contradictory and conflicting realities in matters such as violence against women. Based on a qualitative methodology, 142 comments were published in a 48-hour period in the comments box that accompanied the news published on the website www.g1.globo.com. The interpretation of the data, guided by the thematic analysis, allowed to identify three themes: i) virtual justice: accusations and defenses; ii) persona and male chauvinism as an expression of truth; and iii) social reality and prejudice, expressions and (mis) understandings of the world. The results suggest the (co)production of discourses and the not always respectful dissemination of discursive practices influenced by male chauvinist practices that devalue the place of women in contemporary society. It reinforces the need to rethink cyberspace as an accessible and available stage for the (re)production of positions that (il)legitimate practices currently configured as a crime, such as rape. The relevance of a discussion on the current terms of use of newspaper comment boxes online is worth highlighting.
