Fez-se revisão da literatura para divulgar a Semana mundial do Aleitamento materno (SmAm)
em 2007 e demonstrar a importância da amamentação dentro da 1ª hora de vida. o tema é “A amamentação dentro da 1ª hora salva um milhão de bebés”. São inúmeros os benefícios do aleitamento neste período, e ao reduzir as altas taxas de mortalidade neonatal, torna-se no primeiro passo e no mais essencial na redução da mortalidade de crianças menores de cinco anos.
There was made a revision of literature to publish, World breastfeeding Week (WbW) in 2007 and to demonstrate the importance of breastfeeding within the 1st hour after birth. the subject is “breastfeeding within the 1st hour saves one million of babies”. the benefits of breastfeeding in this period are innumerable, in the first place it reduces the high rate of neonatal mortality and, most essential, it will reduce the mortality of children under five year.
