O Douro no Gharb Al-Ândalus: a História e a arquitectura do Douro entre os séculos VIII e XII

Abstract

“O Douro no Gharb al-Ândalus” é o motivo para uma sucinta reflexão em torno da história, da arquitectura e da noção de património. O rio Douro foi durante cerca de quatro séculos território de fronteira entre os reinos cristãos e muçulmanos da Península. Baseado nesse facto intenta-se percorrer a história e a região em busca dos elementos do passado, sobretudo arquitectónicos e arqueológicos, que constituem a nossa identidade cultural. “The Douro River at the Gharb al-Ândalus” it’s the motive for a brief incursion trhough the History; architecture and the sense of patrimonial heritage. The Douro river has been at almost four centurys a frontier territory between the christian and muslim kingdoms at the Iberic Peninsule. Based on this fact we intent made a travel at the region and his history searching the architectonic and archological elements from the past who’ve made our cultural identity.
