Abstract(s)
The main objective of this graduation project is to develop a new method for evaluating the effectiveness of the Program for Domestic Violence Aggressors (PAVD), allowing a better assessment of the evolution presented by the participants. Domestic violence is a complex phenomenon where violent behaviors are adopted, which could harm the health of others, with whom the aggressor had or has a family or emotional relationship (Carrilho, 2018). This violence does not appear to be punctual and isolated, from the moment abusive behaviors begin, whatever their order, they tend to occur frequently, generating a cycle that is difficult to break (Sales, 2018). Combating and preventing domestic violence is essential for society. The idea of rehabilitating these aggressors emerges as fundamental to trying to solve this problem (Rijo, 2012). The Program for Domestic Violence Aggressors (PAVD) constitutes an innovative solution, innovating in relation to traditional approaches to the rehabilitation of these aggressors, based on a complex conceptual model, which encompasses the interaction between variables of different nature (Rijo, 2012). However, this program is limited by the lack of an effective diagnostic tool. In programs of this type, it is essential to have diagnostic instruments that evaluate both the effectiveness of the interventions and the evolution of the participants, aiming to ensure the success of the actions. However, these instruments are not always ideally designed. In this sense, this project proposes to create a new diagnostic tool for PAVD, which provides a more comprehensive assessment of the program's success. At a methodological level, this project presents a research proposal using a quantitative methodology, applying questionnaires to participants.
