Abstract(s)
vitalidade pulpar do dente.
Ambas as técnicas têm bons resultados
Clinical intervention on deep dental caries with partial excavation technique can save the maximum of dental structure and aims to maintain the tooth’s pulp vitality. Determining the degree of pulp infection with the clinical history is essential to enable the reversibility of the deep lesions and the reparative capacity of dental structures. This resolution enables to perform a partial removal or Stepwise Excavation technique in two sessions, instead of a complete carie removal. Both techniques have good clinical results. The failures have to do with incorrect sealing of the lesion from the oral cavity, because of the dentist’s technical incapacity, or due to the properties of the materials that can be unideal. This technique depends on the patient’s will, so he may not comply with the treatment, risking the success of the treatment. The removal of correct quantity of infected dentin and the use of materials like MTA, glass ionomer and Biodentine® ensure the manutention of the vitality with the maximum of dental structure conservation. With this bibliographic review study, based on the studies published in Medline, PubMed, Be-on, it was intended to gather the latest informations about this topic, so useful in the future clinical life.
