Abstract(s)
Objectives: To compare, in this integrative literature review, the results obtained in the non-surgical treatment of dental implants affected by periimplantitis and to evaluate which are the most predictable and most effective techniques that will allow to increase the survival rate of implants affected by periimplantitis. Materials and Methods: An electronic search was carried out through the PubMed and Cochrane Library databases from 2011 to 2021. The section of studies was guided by reading the title, the abstract and the full reading of the article. Using the PRISMA search strategy for the selection of the articles, such as randomized controlled trials (RCTs), trials only in humans, articles in English language, addressing the non-surgical treatment of IP were included, taking in account the respective parameters: PPD, BoP/SoP, MBL and data microbiological. Results: According to the bibliographic research carried out, we found 102 articles about the subject. After the full reading of 6 articles, the respective 6 articles were included and analysed in this integrative literature review. Conclusion: Non-surgical treatment of PI is effective in reducing the clinical parameters PPD, BoP/SoP, MBL, inflammation of the tissues affected by PI. However, scientific evidence is limited regarding the success of this sense there is a need to develop additional scientific studies with a larger sample as well as a longer follow-up period in order to obtain more effective, more homogeneous, and more reliable results.
