Introduction: The Minimally Invasive Surgical Technique (MIST) stress the aspects of wound and blood clot stability and primary wound closure for blood-clot protection. Objective: To compare, in this literature review, the results obtained using the minimally invasive surgical technique for periodontal regeneration of intraosseous defects Materials and Methods: An electronic search has been carried out through online databases such as PubMed Central and the Online Knowledge Library over the past 5 years. Results: From the bibliographical research, 1631 articles were found, of which, after their evaluation, only 6 were included and analyzed in this work. All studies showed reduced probing depth, clinical attachment gain and increased recession in all different techniques. Conclusion: Existing studies demonstrate good results and report that use of MIST is encouraging in the treatment of intraosseous defects, but further scientific studies with a more substantial sample as well as a longer follow-up period will be needed.
