Abstract(s)
Incisor Hypomineralization; Adhesive Systems; Adhesion; Hypomineralized Enamel;
Treatment; Enamel Anomalies; Amelogenesis.
Objective: To explain adhesion problems to hypomineralized enamel and elucidate dentists on the adhesive systems that, according to current scientific evidence, present the best clinical results. Methodology: A bibliographic search was conducted using the following keywords: Molar Incisor Hypomineralization; Adhesive Systems; Adhesion; Hypomineralized Enamel; Treatment; Enamel Anomalies; Amelogenesis. After applying the inclusion and exclusion criteria, 30 articles were obtained for review. Topic: Rehabilitating an infant patient with enamel structural defects is always a challenge for the dentist, from the selection of the indicated restorative techniques to the control of infant patient behavior. When choosing a composite resin for the restorative treatment, it’s critical to take into account the hypomineralized enamel characteristics and select the most appropriate adhesive, in order to optimize the success and longevity of the restorations.
