Abstract(s)
MƩtodos: pesquisa bibliogrƔfica, recorrendo Ơ base de dados PubMed e B-On, consultando
This review article focuses on the role of bruxism in dental implant rehabilitation, aiming to predict the behavior of the implant inserted in the patient diagnosed with bruxism. Bruxism is a parafunctional motor activity of grinding and clenching of teeth. Bruxism as one of the potential risk factors for implants is discussed in systematic reviews. In spite increasing knowledge about its etiology and diagnosis, there is still a lack of evidence on the effects of bruxism as a cause of failure or complication of dental implants. Methods: bibliographic research, using PubMed and B-On database, consulting books and articles of newspapers and magazines, without time restriction, in English.
