Abstract(s)
A dor orofacial crónica é uma condição persistente e debilitante que pode afetar os tecidos moles e duros da face e da cavidade oral, podendo ter um impacto significativo na qualidade de vida de um individuo. Estima-se que afete 10-15% da população sendo que não existe cura e o seu tratamento é multifacetado. Este trabalho tem como objetivo avaliar a qualidade e legibilidade da informação existente online em língua portuguesa, referente ao tratamento da dor orofacial crónica.
Para isso foi efetuada uma pesquisa online da frase “tratamento para dor orofacial crónica” nos três motores de busca mais usados em Portugal – Google, Bing e Yahoo – sendo avaliadas as primeiras 25 páginas. O Índice de Flesh de Facilidade de leitura foi usado para avaliar a legibilidade e o instrumento DISCERN para avaliar a qualidade.
Da avaliação dos sites elegíveis verifica-se que a informação disponibilizada em português acerca do tratamento da dor orofacial crónica apresenta baixa qualidade e baixa legibilidade, podendo ser inadequada.
Chronic orofacial pain is a persistent and debilitating condition that can affect the soft and hard tissues of the face and oral cavity, and can have a significant impact on an individual's quality of life. It is estimated that it affects 10-15% of the population, and there is no cure and its treatment is multifaceted. The objective of this study is to evaluate the quality and readability of the information available online in Portuguese regarding the treatment of chronic orofacial pain. For this, an online search was carried out for the phrase "treatment for chronic orofacial pain" in the three most used search engines in Portugal – Google, Bing and Yahoo – and the first 25 pages were evaluated. The Flesh Index of Reading Ease was used to assess readability and the DISCERN instrument to assess quality. From the evaluation of the eligible sites, it can be seen that the information provided in Portuguese about the treatment of chronic orofacial pain has low quality and low readability, and may be inadequate.
