Abstract(s)
A apresentação deste projecto de graduação, analisa o papel do jornalismo ambiental na reportagem das alterações climáticas e do aquecimento global, realçando a forma como os média influenciam a consciência pública sobre estes fenómenos. A investigação tem um teor teórico, que aborda a evolução histórica, os desafios as funções e as características do jornalismo ambiental, analisando na prática em dez notícias estas são publicadas em diferentes contextos. O estudo revela que o grau de dificuldades enfrentadas pelos jornalistas é relevante, devido à complexidade científica, a divulgação de desinformação e as pressões politica e económicas. Ao mesmo tempo realça se as boas práticas na comunicação ambiental que passa pelo rigor cientifico, e pela pedagogia social. Em resultado final é necessário que se parta de um jornalismo responsável, critico e ético a escrita e a leitura mais acessíveis para incentivar a sociedade a adotar medidas mais sustentáveis.
This undergraduate project presentation analyzes the role of environmental journalism in reporting on climate change and global warming, highlighting how the media influences public awareness of these phenomena. The research has a theoretical framework that addresses the historical evolution, challenges, functions, and characteristics of environmental journalism, analyzing ten news stories published in different contexts in practice. The study reveals that the level of difficulty faced by journalists is significant due to scientific complexity, the spread of misinformation, and political and economic pressures. At the same time, it highlights good practices in environmental communication, which involve scientific rigor and social pedagogy. The final result is that responsible, critical, and ethical journalism must be used as a starting point, making writing and reading more accessible to encourage society to adopt more sustainable measures.
