A temática da violência policial é de extrema importância, e é um assunto que tem de ser mais abordado e consequentemente tratado. Este projeto tem como principal objetivo abordar e aumentar a compreensão sobre esta problemática. Para isso, este trabalho aborda capítulos sobre o uso e abuso de força por parte das forças de segurança, os princípios orientadores da atividade policial, as perspetivas jurídicas e de direitos humanos da violência policial, e as diferentes perspetivas da violência policial onde irá ser feito uma comparação da violência policial no mundo e em Portugal.
Neste estudo utiliza-se o método de investigação quantitativo, com recurso ao inquérito por questionário. O objetivo da investigação é perceber o conhecimento e a perceção que a comunidade do Município do Porto tem perante a violência policial, se alguém já sofreu com essa problemática ou se já presenciou a mesma. Espera-se que os resultados obtidos sejam esclarecedores para a temática de violência policial no Município do Porto.
The issue of police violence is extremely important, and it is a subject that needs to be more addressed and consequently treated. The main objective of this project is to address and increase understanding of this problem. For that, this work approach chapters on the use and abuse of force by security forces, the guiding principles of police activity, the legal and human rights perspectives of police violence, and the different perspectives of police violence where a comparison of police violence in the world and in Portugal will be made. In this study, the quantitative research method is used, using questionnaire surveys. The objective of the investigation is to understand the knowledge and perception that the Porto Municipality community has about police violence, if anyone has already suffered from this problem or has already witnessed. It is expected that the results obtained will be enlightening on the topic of police violence in the Municipality of Porto.
