Social media are digital platforms that allow individuals to create profiles for the purpose of connecting and interacting with others, encompassing a wide range of purposes, from establishing personal contacts to researching information and promoting products. Popular examples include Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, Snapchat, and TikTok. Juvenile delinquency is a complex social phenomenon that has been the subject of study, focusing on the causes that lead young people to commit crimes. It is a multifactorial problem, and many countries have specific legal systems to deal with juvenile crime, such as specialized courts and detention centers exclusively for young offenders. One relevant aspect is the frequent use of the internet and social media by children and young people, often without proper parental supervision. Therefore, this project highlights the importance of social media in today's society and the risks associated with their misuse, particularly in the context of juvenile delinquency. The present research proposal aims to obtain results that can contribute to understanding the impact of social media on the social behaviors of individuals aged 10 to 17, as well as the possible implications for the development of their personality, seeking to raise awareness of the problem.
