Abstract(s)
Introdução: O aumento de casos de cancro orofaríngeo associado ao HPV+, tem promovido
interesse na importância da profilaxia na diminuição da incidência da infeção do HPV no cancro
oral.
Material e Métodos: Foi desenvolvida uma revisão bibliográfica narrativa, utilizando palavraschaves estabelecidas e critérios de inclusão e exclusão definidos. Setenta e oito referências
integram a presente dissertação. Adicionalmente foi realizado um inquérito a alunos finalistas
de medicina dentária e Médicos Dentistas, sobre a importância da vacinação contra o HPV no
cancro oral.
Resultados: A amostra constituída no inquérito de 39 alunos e 99 Médicos Dentistas foram
comparados e analisados, evidenciando conhecimento sobre a relação da infeção pelo HPV e o
Cancro oral e sua vacinação.
Conclusão: A recomendação da vacinação contra o HPV de forma a melhorar a saúde dos
pacientes, e o reconhecimento que o aconselhamento sobre vacinação contra o HPV é
considerada, de elevada importância para a saúde dos pacientes.
Introduction: The increase in cases of oropharyngeal cancer associated with HPV + has promoted interest in the importance of prophylaxis in reducing the incidence of HPV infection in oral cancer. Material and Methods: A narrative bibliographic review was developed, using established keywords and defined inclusion and exclusion criteria. Seventy-eight references are part of this dissertation. In addition, a survey was carried out with finalist students of dental medicine and dentists about the importance of HPV vaccination in oral cancer. Results: The sample constituted in the survey of 39 students and 99 dentists were compared and analyzed, showing knowledge about the relationship between HPV infection and oral cancer and its vaccination. Conclusion: The recommendation of vaccination against HPV in order to improve the health of patients, and the recognition that counseling on vaccination against HPV is considered, of high importance for the health of patients.
