Abstract(s)
Objective: to analyze and compare the different ways to apply this technique, itâs indications, methods used, obtained results and possible complications inherent to this procedure. Methods: a bibliographical review was performed using electronical databases such as PubMed and B-ON. Articles and studies relative to this technique were also included. Results: sixteen studies related to the different ways of performing the socket shield technique were analyzed. Conclusions: few are the studies yet available and conclusive about this technique. Itâs a recent approach in which a high long-term success rate doesnât exist. It seems to be a good option in some cases, however it canÂŽt be applied on daily clinical practice.
