Abstract(s)
Zirconia, unlike silica-based ceramics, requires specific adhesive techniques that will improve its ability to bond to the tooth substrate. The aim of this literature review was to understand and synthesize the most effective zirconia cementation techniques. To this end, a literature search of articles in Portuguese and English was conducted from 2012 to 2022 using the PubMed, Elsevier, and B-ON search engines. We proceeded to define the search terms, inclusion and exclusion criteria for the selection of articles. In the end, this work was provided by 37 articles. The blasting with alumina oxide and the use of 10-MDP monomer constitute the mechanical and chemical treatment that promotes higher adhesion forces between dental structures, resin cement and zirconia. Further scientifically studies are still needed to determine the ideal cementation protocol for zirconia.
