A procura de tratamentos de valorização da imagem pessoal tem aumentado ao longo dos
tempos e com isto a procura de procedimentos dentários estéticos.
Mesmo com desenvolvimento de técnicas e evolução de materiais o resultado final de um
tratamento restaurador nem sempre é o desejado e não chega para cumprir as expectativas
dos pacientes, estes necessitam que esses tratamentos transmitam priveligiosamente
personalidade, naturalidade e autenticidade.
Com o intuito de unir expectativas do paciente com padrões de estética o visagismo
utilizado na medicina dentária promete personalizar o sorriso harmoniosamente ,
relacionando-se com as características físicas e emocionais do individuo.
O digital smile design é uma ferramenta utilizada no processo de elaboração de
tratamentos estéticos que dá resposta às necessidades biológicas, funcionais e emocionais
do paciente, onde este tem participação activa em todo o processo.
O objetivo deste trabalho foi conhecer os princípios do visagismo e a sua aplicação na
medicina dentária.
The search for personal enhancement treatments, has increased and with this the search for aesthetical dental procedures. Even with the constant development of techniques and evolution of materials, the final result of a restorative treatment, is not always what is desired and does not meet the expectations of patients, the patients need that these treatments transmit more personality, naturalness and authenticity. With the goal of unite the expectations of the patient with aesthetic standarts the visagism used in Dental Medicine promise personalize the smile harmoniously, relating to the individual’s physical and emotional characteristics. Digital Dental Smile is a tool used in the process of elaboration of aesthetic treatments that responds to the biological, functional and emotional needs of the patient where he can follow the whole process. The goal of this work was to know the principals of visagism and the application in dental medicine.
