Abstract(s)

O objectivo central do artigo consiste em dar conta de um estudo da autora no qual foram analisadas as vivências procuradas nas festas de dança, em termos de interacção simbólica expressa em novas redes de sociabilidade, e das crenças, gostos, interesses, papéis e comportamentos rituais que lhes estão subjacentes, associadas a formas específicas de consumo das "culturas juvenis", com um particular ênfase nos fenómenos relacionados com o consumo de substâncias psicoactivas. The main aim of this paper is to bring to the public knowledge one study performed by the author in which was studied the quest for new experiences materialised by some types of dancing parties. These experiences were analysed in terms of the symbolic interaction between the participants, which is expressed in the new networks of socialising, and of the related belief and tastes, range of interests, roles and ritual behaviours. These patterns are associated to specific consumption habits of the "juvenile cultures", with particular emphasis to the aspects related to the consumption of psychoactive substances.
