Considerou-se pertinente a temática da área de Saúde Mental e Psiquiátrica, na medida em que pretendeu-se aprofundar conhecimentos numa área pouco desenvolvida no âmbito de estudos de investigação, e que, cada vez mais, necessita de cuidados diferenciados. Devido a complexidade que esta área apresenta, suscitou-nos o interesse em adquirir competências e atitudes adequadas no cuidar a utentes com doença mental.
Relativamente ao fenómeno em estudo tendo por base a área temática selecionada: “As vivências dos Enfermeiros como cuidadores da pessoa com ideação suicida”. A importância da problemática deste estudo de investigação possibilitou-nos traçar o seguinte objetivo: Conhecer as vivências dos enfermeiros que cuidam da pessoa com ideação suicida, em contexto hospitalar.
Para a realização deste trabalho de investigação, optou-se pelo paradigma qualitativo, orientado para uma vertente fenomenológica. Como se pretendeu conhecer as vivências dos enfermeiros como cuidadores da pessoa com ideação suicida, e ainda que, trabalhem no mesmo meio, estes poderão ter experiências distintas ou coincidentes do mesmo fenómeno, resultantes das situações a que cada um é sujeito no seu dia-a-dia e das suas crenças e valores. A amostra selecionada foi intencional, sendo composta por enfermeiros Hospital Magalhães Lemos, tendo como critérios de elegibilidade: enfermeiros com mais de 6 meses de experiência profissional na área de saúde mental e psiquiatria; enfermeiros que aceitem ser entrevistados. A colheita de dados foi efetuada através da entrevista, estruturada, com o intuito de responder às seguintes questões de investigação: Quais são as vivências dos enfermeiros como cuidadores da pessoa com ideação suicida?
Consider relevant thematic area of Mental Health and Psychiatry, in that we aim to deepen knowledge in an undeveloped area in the context of research studies and, increasingly, need special care. Because of the complexity that this area presents us aroused interest in acquiring appropriate skills and attitudes in caring for users with mental illness. With regard to the phenomenon under study based on the subject area selected by us: “The experiences of Nurses as caregivers of people with suicidal ideation”. The importance of the problem of this research study enabled us to draw the following objective: To understand the experiences of nurses who care for people with suicidal ideation in the hospital settings. To carry out this research work, we chose the qualitative paradigm, oriented towards a phenomenological. As we want to know the experiences of nurses as caregivers of suicidal patients and also that work in the same medium, they may have distinct or overlapping experiences the same phenomenon, arising from the situations to which each subject and in their day -to-day and their beliefs and values . The sample was selected by us intentionally, consisting of nurses Hospital Magalhães Lemos, with the eligibility criteria: nurses over 6 months of work experience in the area of mental health and psychiatry; nurses who agree to be interviewed. Data collection was carried out through interview, structured, in order to answer the following research questions: What are the experiences of nurses as caregivers of people with suicidal ideation?
