Abstract(s)
A hypothetic-deductive exploration approach is illustrated for oil and gas exploration in
SE Asia. The a priori petroleum parameters for Atlantic-type margins (Western and
Eastern offshore India) and backarc basins (without and with oceanization) are review.
Bongkot (Gulf of Thailand) and Mahakam Fields (offshore Kalimantan, Borneo)
corroborate such an exploration approach.
