Abstract(s)
O tratamento das lesões peri-apicais com tratamento endodôntico convencional não é, por vezes, suficiente, sendo necessário e recomendado recorrer-se a uma abordagem cirúrgica.
Os materiais de retro-obturação devem ser primariamente biocompatíveis, não tóxicos, não carcinogénicos, ter fácil uso e manipulação, não sensíveis à humidade e idealmente ter propriedades antibacterianas.
Os objetivos desta revisão narrativa bibliográfica são apresentar os materiais de retro-obturação existentes, por forma a evidenciar as suas propriedades, tais como a sua biocompatibilidade, capacidade seladora e capacidade antibacteriana.
A metodologia consistiu numa pesquisa efetuada nas bases de dados “Pubmed”, “B-on”, “RCAP”, “Repositório institucional da UFP”, “NCBI” com as palavras-chave: “Endodontic”, “Retrofilling materials”, “Root end filling materials”, “Material properties” e “Retro obturation root canal”.
Da análise realizada da literatura científica consultada, evidencia-se que os materiais biocerâmicos e o MTA são os materiais com melhores características biológicas, bioativas e selamento, para além de possuírem propriedade antibacteriana.
Sometimes the treatment of periapical lesions with conventional endodontic treatment is not enough, so a surgical approach is necessary and recommended. Retro-filling materials must be primarily biocompatible, non-toxic, non-carcinogenic, easy to use and handling, without sensitivity to moisture and have ideally an antibacterial property. The objectives of this bibliographic and narrative review are to present the existing retro-obturation materials, in order to show their properties, such as their biocompatibility, sealing capacity and anti-bacterial capacity. The methodology consisted of a search carried out in the databases "Pubmed", "B-on", "RCAP", "Institutional Repository of UFP" and "NCBI" with the following keywords: "Endodontic", "Retrofilling materials" Root end filling materials ","Material properties","Retro obturation root canal ". From the analysis of the scientific literature consulted, it is evident that the bioceramic materials and the MTA are the materials with the best biological, bioactive and sealing properties, besides possessing anti-bacterial properties.
