Abstract(s)
Diseases are and always were subjects that raised great concern around the world; I understand as a disease an anomalous condition that affects our body, and that this anomaly was not caused by external physical factors, diseases that alone can be acquired by pathogenic factors or internal dysfunctions. Illness is a term often used by us as a way of expressing a pathological condition that causes some kind of discomfort, pain or even the death of a living being, or similar problems when it comes into contact with a living being. However, with medicine, today we have a great arsenal of means to give answers to most of these diseases, and thus to make the disposition of the population in general. Nevertheless the prison reality is very different from the one we know abroad, especially when we are not talking about first world countries. Many African countries have a high rate of social poverty, as a result of the mismanagement of the political class and the visible corruption in African countries, which in turn is negatively reflected in the treatment of the less favored class (General population and prisoners), which in turn, causes them to be targets of ill-treatment within African prisons and relegated to the background. The theme of this work will focus particularly on two African countries that mirror the reality of these prisons, so let’s focus on the main situations (hygiene, health and care).
