Os idosos, apresentam especificidades, inerentes à senescência, que assumem importante relevância para a qualidade de vida. A atuação do fisioterapeuta nesta área é de vital importância, uma vez que a evolução demográfica aponta para um aumento da população idosa em Portugal. Neste estudo propôs-se verificar a existência entre a relação dos domínios similares (Nível Energia/Vitalidade, Dor/Dor Corporal, Reações Emocionais/Saúde Mental, Isolamento Social/Função Social, Mobilidade Física/Função Física) do Perfil de Saúde Nottingham (PSN) e Short Form-36v2 (SF-36v2), em 33 idosos do Lar da Beneficiência Evangélica. Efectuou-se um rastreio da cognição mental (Mini Exame do Estado Mental), procedeu-se à recolha das características sociodemográficas e posteriormente aplicaram-se os instrumentos PSN e SF-36v2 em dois momentos. Ambos os instrumentos apresentaram valores de confiabilidade no teste-reteste: CCItotal (SF-36v2)=0,9783, e CCItotal (PSN)=0,946, e de consistência interna: α-Cronbach (SF-36v2)=0,700, α-Cronbach (PSN)=0,775. Os domínios similares correlacionam-se positivamente e significativamente. Estes resultados devem ser considerados na escolha de um instrumento para avaliação da qualidade de vida.
The elderly have specific characteristics due to senescence, important for the quality of life. The role of the physiotherapist is of vital importance, as demographic trends point to an increasing elderly population in Portugal. The aim of this study was to verify the existence between similar domains (Level of Energy/Vitality, Pain /Body Pain, Emotional Reactions /Mental Health, Social Isolation/Social Function, Physical Mobility/Physical Function) of the Nottingham Health Profile (PSN) and Short Form-36v2 (SF-36v2) in 33 older people living in a nursing home. A cognitive impairment screening was performed (Mini Mental State Examination), as well as a sociodemographic characterization. Subsequently was applied SF-36v2 and PSN on two occasions. Both instruments showed high values in the test-retest reliability: CCItotal (SF-36v2)=0.9783, and CCItotal (PSN)=0.946, and internal consistency: Cronbach's α-(SF-36v2)=0.700, α-Cronbach (PSN)=0.775. Positive and statistically significant correlations were found between all similar domains. These results should be considered for selecting instruments for the assessment of quality of life.
