dc.description.abstractCom o aumento da demanda por estética, incorporação da tecnologia Computer-Aided Design/Computer Aided Manufacturing e avanço das propriedades mecânicas das cerâmicas, alternativas aos sistemas restauradores convencionais foram criadas a fim de permitir uma mimetização adequada das características ópticas dos dentes naturais. Dentre os novos recursos restauradores, as próteses livres de metal implanto-suportadas viabilizam uma situação estética mais favorável quando comparadas ao uso de pilares metálicos. O propósito desta revisão de literatura é apresentar as características, indicações, comportamento clínico e taxas de sobrevivência dos pilares estéticos cerâmicos expostos às cargas cíclicas no ambiente oral. Os pilares cerâmicos confeccionados de zircônia, alumina, alumina-zircônia e zircônia com base de titânio foram incluídos nesta revisão de literatura e comparados aos pilares metálicos.pt_PT
dc.description.abstractWith the increase in the aesthetics demand, the implementation of computer-aided design and advancement of mechanical properties of ceramics, alternatives to conventional restorative systems have been created in order to allow an adequate mimicking of the optical characteristics of natural teeth. Among the new restorative approaches, the implant-supported metal free prostheses allow a more favorable aesthetic situation when compared to the use of metal abutments. The purpose of this literature review is to present the characteristics, indications, clinical behavior and survival rates of the ceramic aesthetic abutments exposed to cyclic loads in the oral environment. The ceramic pillars made of zirconia, alumina, alumina-zirconia, and zirconia with titanium base were included in this literature review and compared to the metal abutments.pt_PT
